Annie Mac winter warmer mix 2010
This post was ready this afternoon but i had to put it on hold because of other stuff and i thought that this is the most appropriate for the end of the day. Annie Mac uploaded this mix today. It's the one to keep you warm during these cold days. A bit different than i thought this would be. Much easier mix than any of my posts (especially today) with a lot of different stuff - trip hop, hip hop a bit of dubstep, everything and anything. All things slower and much more chill. Great one though, perfect for tucking in some place warm and watching those snowflakes have fun. Enjoy

Dubstep Takeover / History of Dubstep
There was a dubstep takeover on BBCR1 and BBC 1Xtra on saturday. It was 12 hours of dubstep and i listened to about 9. My head was buzzin after that.
Most of you probably know about this but if you slept on it here's a homework for you. It was an amazing show, celebrating the best year for dubstep so far. There was a lot of talk about where's dubstep now, where it has been and where's it going. A lot of guests in the studio, soundclash between London, Manchester, Bristol and Midlands where London won (totally deserved, especially with that Skream mix). Benji Bs history of dubstep part and Crissy Criss future of dubstep.
It got me thinking - when did i get involved in the whole dubstep thing? It was about 2007/08 with notorious Night (Benga & Coki) and Benga & Skream playing on Exit Festival (2008). It was ok to me but i wasn't all crazy about it. At the end of 2008 i got hooked on it totally. I even played dubstep at my first gig (may 2009). What about you?
The best thing on the whole dubstep takeover for me was the Benji B part. His part was about a history of dubstep and he talks about artists, labels and clubnights responsible for what dubstep is today. Going from the beginning around year 2000 and tracks by the likes of Oris Jay, El-B and Zed Bias, taking us to Magnetic Man, Doctor P and a current state of dubstep. Grab this part below, tracklist and more mixes for download are after the jump. Enjoy

Hot As Hell / Nouveau Yorican Remix
Most of you already know about upcoming new track - Hot As Hell by Drop The Lime. I wrote about that already, in case you missed it you can read more about it here. The release has been turning heads lately, all for a good reason - it's awesome. In anticipation to the release here's a freebie that's just been given away - Nouveau Yorican Remix. If you don't know Nouveau Yorican is Laidback Luke + Gina Turner. Anyways they did this remix, changed the original quite a bit, more funky but still hard enough for any dancefloor. Very good one really, check it out below.

Mele - I Swear Down
Holiday presents started arriving. First gift given away is from Mele. He gave away his track - I Swear Down. He's been one of my personal revelations this year with his tracks coming out on Cheap Thrills and Mixpak. His style is never to be put under one genre, it's all bass heavy music whether it's house, dubstep, garage or whatever. This track is no different, what matters the most is that it's a hell of a track. Listen and download below.

Tom Staar new EP + mixtape
There will be a couple of posts that were due last week but because i was lazy they'll be posted now. This one is about Tom Staar who's got his latest EP out on Moda Music (Andy George & Jaymos Label). It's called Pandemonium EP and contains 3 tracks. Pandemonium, which is the one done with Savage Skulls is my favourite from it. It's all electro house with kind of discoish sounds that's typical for Tom Staar, but still keeping it fidgety. Listen to the whole EP below.

He also recorded a minimix to promote the release and it's much fun containing some very good records in it. Listen or download below. Tracklist is after the jump.

Dj Fresh vs Sigma - Lassitude / Dillon Francis Remix
THere was a post earlier on the blog about Lassitude. Now here's a new remix of that track which is given away for free. It's a Dillon Francis remix and the only reason it's given away for free is the fact that he missed the labels due for submissions. Another very good remix of that track, yes it's dubstep but much different to previous versions, you might call it a fuckstep or just a music to fuck to. Stream and download below, listen for yourself.

The Streets - Going Through Hell / Diplo Remix
As most of you already know Mike Skinner is dropping his newest (and unfortunately his last as The Streets) album "Computers and Blues" on february 7th 2011. First single that's taken off that album is "Going through hell" which is electric guitar based rock kinda tune. You can listen to it after the jump. Now, Diplo jumped on this track and remixed it. He made a dubstep version of it. Guitars are taken off and only the vocals are left so the song is pretty much changed with added subs, horns and drums. Download it below. Enjoy

Excision - The X Pack - 10 Free Tunes
I was so happy today when i saw Excision uploaded this package with 10 awesome tunes + all of them for free. I know most of you dubstep heads out there will be happy with this too. They're all massive tracks but i have to say Subsonic was one of my fave dubstep tracks this year, with one of the most amazing intros. Enough with the talking, here's a heavy dosage of dubstep for all y'all out there, have a listen, download, enjoy.

Dublic - Winter Woofer
Yesterday Patu sent me a link to this mix saying how good it is. Of course i listened and i enjoyed and thought i had to post it on the blog, now this mix is on repeat. Really good mix full of some crazy mashups and edits. I don't know much about this dudes except that they're from Hungary and they play electro/breaks/bassline type of music. This mix is mostly breaks and electro but as they approach the end of the mix there's even a bit of moombahton and some dubstep at the end (plus that happy hardcore bit by Doctor P). I really enjoyed it, what about you? Tracklist is after the jump and you can stream or download it right here.

New Heartbreak - M3 EP
More moombahton? Yes, please. This time it's Heartbreaks time. It's his new moombahton EP that's been given away for free. It's kind of divided into 3 parts because all 3 tracks are very different despite it all being moombahton.
First track, Shy day is kinda sexier, easier track that will be very sutiable for some quality time with your gf/bf. Despite that it is also very dancefloor friendly. It samples Sade - No Ordinary Love and David likes to call this style moombahsoul. You'll see/hear for yourself that moombahsoul is very suitable name for this.
Heartbreak - Shy Day
Second track from the ep is Arieto. Different than the first one but still very good. It will take you to the happier side of this ep. More latin influenced track containing some spanish samples. Very good track that will still make you want to move your ass.
Heartbreak - Arieto
Third track is a King Kong and i think the name couldn't be more appropriate. It's the most aggressive, fueled with bass and darkest part of this ep. It's similar to Munchi's previous moombahcore projects (no wonder, they are together in this moombahton thing) and it's a real king kong amongst these 3 tracks from the ep. This one is my favourite alongside Shy Day and those 2 are my new favourite moombahton tracks, i can't wait to drop em.

Faith no more - Epic / Utah Saints bootleg
Faith no more is one of my all-time favourite bands and this particular song is ranked amongst favourites. Guys from Utah Saints made a bootleg of it and they used it as a battle weapon for the festivals this summer. I'm lovin' it, electro breaks all the way and a real party starter. Mumdance uploaded his new mix yesterday. I always love to hear what's new with him and his track Smasher is still one of my favourite tunes, i'd play it out anywhere, anytime. Anyways this mix is full of everything bass heavy from 125 to 175 BPM. Starts with some Uk Funky/housey stuff to dubstep and dnb. Stream or download below, tracklist is after the jump. Enjoy.
